Our Excellence Starts By Identifying The Best Areas.
Queiroz Galvão Energia is constantly looking for suitable areas to install new wind farms and solar power plants in the Northeast of Brazil, taking into consideration the potential of the site as well as socio-economic and environmental sustainability. To this end, the company has a team of highly specialized professionals who work meticulously to identify the best areas to develop these projects.
After identifying potential sites, the next step is to establish partnerships with the owners of the selected land to conduct feasibility studies. At this stage, measurement towers equipped with anemometers are installed to assess wind and solar resources, without interrupting any activity routinely developed by the landowners.
After the energy potential of the areas has been established, the second stage can be initiated, which involves more detailed studies, including the construction/electrical project and energy production estimates. Studies related to environmental licensing and the project’s economic and financial feasibility are also conducted. When this phase is completed, Queiroz Galvão Energia initiates the process of signing long-term power purchase and sales agreements under either the regulated contracting environment (known as ACR), through energy commercialization auctions, or the free contracting environment (known as ACL). Finally, the wind or solar project is implemented according to the market’s best practices.
Throughout this process, landowners and the community, essential players for the success of the venture, will benefit in various ways. Landowners benefit directly from the fees paid for the right to use the land for studies and the implementation of the project. And when the venture starts generating energy, they receive a percentage of the income from the commercialized energy. Additionally, landowners and the local community also benefit from Queiroz Galvão Energia’s support to social projects, such as sponsoring educational institutions and cultural and sports events. Another aspect worth mentioning is that the low use of the leased land allows the landowners to develop complementary economic activities, such as agriculture and cattle breeding.
We also conduct assessments for the development of other projects, such as small hydro plants, biomass, solid waste. The generation of clean energy with excellence and safety combined with the socio-economic development of the region, benefiting partners, owners and communities, is one of Queiroz Galvão Energia’s commitments.
