Last Monday (24) afternoon, the governor of the state of Piauí, Wilson Martins, visited the renovation works of the Zoo-Botanic Park. The park will have 4,000 meters of linear sidewalks people can use for walks, including the external area, sidewalks connecting the gatehouse to the interior of the park and the trails, vet clinic, administration and reptile sector.

The cost is estimated at over 2 million Brazilian reals and the project is the result of a partnership between the Government of the State, through its State Department of the Environment (Semar), and Queiroz Galvão Energias Renováveis. During the visit, the governor thanked the partnership and added that the goal is to make the Zoo-Botanic Park even prettier by expanding the pedestrian access. “It is a pleasure to see one more renovation that will give the people of Piauí even more comfort”, he said.

Wilson also pointed out that the Government of the State has been investing not only in infrastructure, education, health and safety, but also in leisure, giving the people of the city of Teresina an area that is perfect for observing the nature, and that the Government of the State has also been working towards preserving, creating and expanding green areas in the city.

For Max Xavier, Queiroz Galvão Energias Renováveis’ CEO, this partnership with Piauí is crucial. He thanked the support Wilson Martins has been giving the company’s investment projects and said the state [of Piauí] was one of the most welcoming partners in the Northeast region.

“Piauí has wind power potential and we are working on the concept of clean energy for the town of Caldeirão Grande, where, at first, 154 wind turbines generating 2.7MW each will be installed to make up an installed capacity of more than 400MW”, Max Xavier explained.

The environmental compensation works at the Zoo-Botanic Park are a big investment. “We understand the park is a place where families go together to have contact with the fauna and flora, and as we produce clean energy, I believe that, in this regard, our project goes hand in hand with the renovation, which focuses on preservation and bringing people closer to nature”, the Queiroz Galvão Energias Renováveis CEO highlighted.
